Daghestаn

Dаghestan is known as “the country of mountains”. Can you imagine our mountainous nature?! It’s majestic! There are a lot of wonderful regions in Daghestan, where people of different nationalities live. Each region is famous by its uniquе nаtional traditions, culture and folk craft.

You wоuld be interested in some historical events which took place on our land centuries ago. The mоst ancient and fаmous memorial Derbent fortress is the mоstly visited place by foreign and local tourists, and of course they enjoy it.

“Barkhan Sary-Khum” is the original natural phenomenon which can be seen on the way to the capital.

Makhachkala is the capital of Daghestan; it is situated on the foot of the mountain Tarki- Тоwе and on the соаst of the Саspian Sea. About 600000(six hundred thousand) people and more than 30 nationalities live in it. Makhachkala is a business center. There are many high buildings, banks, and соmpanies in it. Оur city is grееn and beautiful. In summer it’s too hot here. We еnjoy going to the bеасh where we can swim, sunbathe, plау games. Makhachkala is worth visiting.

The plасе I live in is very remarkable by our national customs, unusual fiery dancing and handicraft masterpieces.

TEXT "COMPUTERS"

Generally, any device that can perform numerical calculations, even an adding machine, may be called a computer but nowadays this term is used especially for digital computers. Computers that once weighed 30 tons now may weigh as little as 1.8 kilograms. Microchips and microprocessors have considerably reduced the cost of the electronic components required in a computer. Computers come in many sizes and shapes such as special-purpose, laptop, desktop, minicomputers, supercomputers. Special-purpose computers can perform specific tasks and their operations are limited to the programmes built into their microchips. There computers are the basis for electronic calculators and can be found in thousands of electronic products, including digital watches and automobiles. Basically, these computers do the ordinary arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. General-purpose computers are much more powerful because they can accept new sets of instructions. The smallest fully functional computers are called laptop computers. Most of the general-purpose computers known as personal or desktop computers can perform almost 5 million operations per second. Today's personal computers are know to be used for different purposes: for testing new theories or models that cannot be examined with experiments, as valuable educational tools due to various encyclopedias, dictionaries, educational programmes, in book-keeping, accounting and management. Proper application of computing equipment in different industries is likely to result in proper management, effective distribution of materials and resources, more efficient production and trade. Minicomputers are high-speed computers that have greater data manipulating capabilities than personal computers do and that can be used simultaneously by many users. These machines are primarily used by larger businesses or by large research and university centers. The speed and power of supercomputers, the highest class of computers, are almost beyond comprehension, and their capabilities are continually being improved. The most complex of these machines can perform nearly 32 billion calculations per second and store 1 billion characters in memory at one time, and can do in one hour what a desktop computer would take 40 years to do. They are used commonly by government agencies and large research centers. Linking together networks of several small computer centers and programming them to use a common language has enabled engineers to create the supercomputer. The aim of this technology is to elaborate a machine that could perform a trillion calculations per second.

In October 10 the model lesson "Features of Nations" took place at the faculty of Psychology and Philosophy. (Scientific advisor Khametova E). interesting facts were presented by the second course students. Video and photo materials were applied.

Members of the foreign languages academic department for humanities faculties of DSU took active part in giving their talks in philology, linguistics, pedagogics. methodology, etc. and sharing opinions.

Family values👪

In April, 24 there was held a model lesson by Bayramova Zh.A. (Associate professor of the foreign languages academic department for humanities faculties of DSU, the head of the department) at the law faculty DSU.The first year students ("freshmen" they called themselves) shoewed their language skills in conversational practice speaking about family relationships, generation gap and youth problems. As the future lawyers they should be familiar with the family matters: marriage, divorce, juvenile deliquency, drug addicted youth, disobedience and many other drags.They also spoke about differences between the British family traditions and the Dagestani ones. The lesson was very informative both for students and guests.

A model lesson "Inferiority Complex by Adler

A model lesson "Inferiority Complex" was held in February 13 at the facultyof psychology and philosophy(scientific advisor Khametova E.T.). New amazing facts were presented in the sphere of psychology.The second year students of the psychological department were also tested on personal complex definition.

Trump Pence

In April, 27, at the faculty of psychology and philosophy DSU there was held a lesson-presentation under the title "Trump Pence" devoted to the elections in the USA in November, 2016.
Timur Popov and Fatima Alieva, the first year students of the psychological department(senior lecturer Khametova E.) introduced exciting information about the newly elected president of the USA. Students presented videos and photos expressing the election campaign acute moments.A fierce arguing took place on this topic afterwards.
